Everlasting Sunshine Award

Hello Everyone!!!

I got nominated for two more awards and I don’t even know what I did to deserve them. Seriously.
           Everlasting Blogger Award

Now this award is really special for me because I am one of the first nomination of this award. Isn’t that like woooooooooow.

First nomination of THE award. Oh yesss……it is.

This awsome award is created by Pooja Agrawal and she is the one who nominated me for this award. Thankyou so much girl. This really means a lot to me.

So this is how it works:

  • Display the Award and the rules.
  • Thank the blogger who nominated you. (with the creator)
  • Answer 3 Question asked by the nominator.
  • Nominate 5 new blogs and ask 3 more questions to them.

Questions asked by Pooja Agrawal:-

1. How do you promote your blog on WordPress?

I basically……………………..do nothing. Just exploring WordPress is enough. Seriously, even my friends don’t know that I have got a blog (except for some besties) . They don’t even know that I have had a Bookstagram for so long. Just some great contents can do your publicity.

2. What would you do first if you become a billionaire?

What……..what were you expecting from a college teen? Ha?😋😋

3. Do you want to change your past?

No……….not really. It’s good what I had and it’s good what I have so I don’t think I would change it.

Now is the time for the Nominations:-

Now is the question time. This is my favorite part of any award.

So here are the questions:-

  1. Favourite Book and Author?
  2. What is your agenda for a perfect life?
  3. What is that you don’t like about me or my blog? What are your suggestions?

Thankyou Pooja. Thankyou so much for the nomination. I really loved your idea and thanks for making me a part of it.

I love that about myself because I wasn’t always like that. I was kind of that depressed and sad girl that sits in a corner and I know the worth of what I am now. So, I think that’s what I like about myself. My Personality.

  • Let the bloggers know you have nominated them
  • Give them 11 questions to answer

Here are the answers of the questions asked by True Wondrer :-

    1. What made you start blogging?

My best friends!!!!!! Those insane bitches made me do that. I was always kind of scared of making a blog (more about people will like it or not. My work will be good or not) . I was happy with my Bookstagram but they wanted me to do more. Of course they made me do it and said if I won’t post, they would, with my name on it. They can be scary some times.😓😓😓

So now you know, it wasn’t me at first place. But I’m glad they did that so i got some courage to take a step forward.

    2. Do you keep deadlines for your blog posts?

Nope. Never. I’m one big lazy person and if I’ll keep a deadline it will surely take more time than i normally take ; just like this one. I thought as it is a post about an award i should keep a deadline and see how much time it took.😌😌

    3. For what in your life you feel most grateful?

Books and Friends. They are the best supporters in the world.

Also, so that i can steal candy bars, pizza and get on a train and flights for free and watch movies without paying.(I’m kind of selfish……….Hehe😅😅)

    7. Given the choice of anyone in the world whom would you want as a dinner guest and why?

There’s one person that I always wanted to thank for saving my life with her books and that’s international best selling author Pepper Winters. I always loved her books because they gave me inspirations .(leave the erotic part please😅) Her characters were always broken but they stand for themselves and become untouchable.

    6. I love spicy food and I’m not talking about the chilli sign that you see beside those not-so-spicy pizzas. I’m talking about the real spicy food that can make you cry and your tongue burn. Yesssss!!! That’s what I’m talking about. 😛😛
    7. My favourite genre or type that I prefer in books are Dark Romance (don’t mistake dark romance with normal romance you see. Seriously, those two are extremely different) , Thriller, Suspense, YA, Fantasy and it goes on and on but mostly as I’ve seen I pick up books with Dark Romance in it. July 2017 Reading Warp Up!!!

            Hello Everyone!!!!!

I hope July had been a great month for you all coz for me , it was. Yessssss (Except for the weight I gained)

July was kind of free for me as my semester ended and I got semester break of a whole month. You understand what that mean, right?……………😏

A whole month of Reading and Fun only!!!!!!

This whole month was really awesome for me as I started many of the series that was trying to start for a looooooooooooooong time………..I’m kind of lazy(super). Hehe😅😅

I read 14 books this month!!!

            (Including Novellas)

Some of them were good and some of them were fine but overall it was a great (bookish) month.

            • Series I Completed

            1. Shatter Me Series by Tahereh Mafi

Though the series isn’t completed by the author yet, I read the books those are out till now.

This series consist of 5 books till now :-

            1. Shatter Me #1
            2. Destroy Me #1.5
            3. Unravel Me #2
            4. Fracture Me #2.5
            5. Ignite Me #3

I won’t lie, the first book was not so good. We can say it was somewhat between bad and fine. I found this series on Goodreads. Many of my friends were rating and reviewing these books so I thought I should give it a try myself. First book kind of disappointed me. Second book was nice. I liked the second one much more than I did the first one. Third book of the series was great. This girls finally got some balls to stand for herself and this book did not disappoint me at all. Overall it was a fine choice.

Novellas were nice. Fracture me was better than Destroy Me.

              Rating :-

                  • Series I Started

                  1. Red Queen Series by Victoria Aveyard

The books that I Completed in this Series are:-

                  1. Queen Song #0.1
                  2. Steel Scars #0.2
                  3. Red Queen #1

This book was like everywhere. On Bookstagram, Goodreads and I kind of liked the overview too. So I chose this book and started reading it. I loved this book. At the starting it was kind of confusing but it turned out to be a great choice.

                    2. Millennium Series by Stieg Larsson

The books that I Completed in this series:-

                    1. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo #1
                    2. The Girl who Played with Fire #2

Finally!!!!!!! I started this series. This was in my reading list a long time now. I don’t know why but I kind of lost the interest. I don’t even remember why the interest was gone, so I left the series. But I finally started it and loved it!!!! It’s just that so many characters got me a little confused. Otherwise the books were awesome.

                      Rating :-

                        3. Vampire Academy Series by Richelle Mead

The books I Completed in this series :-

                        1. Vampire Academy #1
                        2. Frostbite #2

I really had zero interest in anything related to warewolf or vampires.(Thanks to Twilight) It was until my friends practically forced me to watch Vampire Diaries. And after that I kind of became obsessed with all this vampire thing. That was when I saw this series and added it to my list. I know it’s old but I atleast started it. And now I even more obsessed with the Vampires. It was so good that it didn’t even took a full day for me to complete the first book.  I really loved this book!!!

                          Rating :-

                              • Books I Read

                              1. Dollars by Pepper Winters

This is the second book in the Dollars series by Pepper Winters.

Pepper Winters can never ever disappointed me. How can one not like such a spell bounding author. This book was sooooooooo damn awesome!!!!! As expected it was outstanding.

                                2. Flame in the Mist by Renée Ahdieh

Flame in the Mist is the first book of the series with the same name.

I loved this book. Kind of reminded me of one of my favourite movie Mulan. It wasn’t similar but has somewhat same characters. In simple words. I loved it! Loved it! Loved it! It was just the story telling of this story that i didn’t liked. Otherwise the book was outstanding.

                                • FAVOURITE BOOK OF THE MONTH             (that I read)

There were many books that got five stars from me and those books which didn’t got were also fine. I chose this month’s favourite book from the books that I read this month only. Not according to the release date or anything.

This book was outstanding!!!!! Specially for a girl like me whose totally into Dark Romance……….An inside broken man with a stubborn girl and a spell bounding story telling.YESSSS. 😎😎

So this was the whole wrap up of the books I read in July 2017. I’d love to know what were your July reads as well as your favorites of the month. Also if you have any above of the book in your read list. (I know….half of it). Well, Thankyou for reading. 😁😁

                                Happy Reading!!!

Favourite Kick Ass Female Leads -Top 10

                                Hey Everyone!!!

I have always loved kick ass girls who never needs a guy to protect them or lead them. They lead their own way and their own story. In my opinion they are the real legends.

What to do, I’m a total feminist. 😅

So I thought of writing a post on my favourite kick ass girls till now.

Here is the list of my top 10 strong female characters, who can take care of themselves and save the day, the boy and the world in the process.

                                10. Alexandria Andros

                                Covenant Series

                                by Jennifer L. Armentrout

The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi pure bloods have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals–well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures.
Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden. Unfortunately, she’s crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn’t her biggest problem–staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is.
If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

                                9.  June Iparis

                                Legend Series

                                by Veronica Roth

In Beatrice Prior’s dystopian Chicago world, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can’t have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.
During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles alongside her fellow initiates to live out the choice they have made. Together they must undergo extreme physical tests of endurance and intense psychological simulations, some with devastating consequences. As initiation transforms them all, Tris must determine who her friends really are—and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes exasperating boy fits into the life she’s chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she’s kept hidden from everyone because she’s been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers unrest and growing conflict that threaten to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her.

Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin.
Her opponents are men-thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a member of the king’s council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she’ll serve the kingdom for four years and then be granted her freedom. Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilarating. But she’s bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her … but it’s the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best.
Then one of the other contestants turns up dead … quickly followed by another. Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? 1. Katniss Everdeen

                                The Hunger Games series

                                Winning will make you famous.

                                Losing means certain death.
The nation of Panem, formed from a post-apocalyptic North America, is a country that consists of a wealthy Capitol region surrounded by 12 poorer districts. Early in its history, a rebellion led by a 13th district against the Capitol resulted in its destruction and the creation of an annual televised event known as the Hunger Games. In punishment, and as a reminder of the power and grace of the Capitol, each district must yield one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 through a lottery system to participate in the games. The ‘tributes’ are chosen during the annual Reaping and are forced to fight to the death, leaving only one survivor to claim victory.

She and her male counterpart Peeta, are pitted against bigger, stronger representatives, some of whom have trained for this their whole lives. , she sees it as a death sentence. The daughter of a prominent samurai, Mariko has long known her place—she may be an accomplished alchemist, whose cunning rivals that of her brother Kenshin, but because she is not a boy, her future has always been out of her hands. At just seventeen years old, Mariko is promised to Minamoto Raiden, the son of the emperor’s favorite consort—a political marriage that will elevate her family’s standing. But en route to the imperial city of Inako, Mariko narrowly escapes a bloody ambush by a dangerous gang of bandits known as the Black Clan, who she learns has been hired to kill her before she reaches the palace.

Dressed as a peasant boy, Mariko sets out to infiltrate the ranks of the Black Clan, determined to track down the person responsible for the target on her back. But she’s quickly captured and taken to the Black Clan’s secret hideout, where she meets their leader, the rebel ronin Takeda Ranmaru, and his second-in-command, his best friend Okami. Still believing her to be a boy, Ranmaru and Okami eventually warm to Mariko, impressed by her intellect and ingenuity. As Mariko gets closer to the Black Clan, she uncovers a dark history of secrets, of betrayal and murder, which will force her to question everything she’s ever known.

“Be as swift as the wind. As silent as the forest. As fierce as the fire. As unshakable as the mountain. And you can do anything.”

When princess Hatori Mariko was send off to her future husband, she wasn’t happy. She knew she was just being traded for some political power and money.

She was always taught to be a tribute for her family. She was always told that all she can do is marry a prince and live under him. Just because she wasn’t a boy she can’t choose what she wants to be.

“She’d been raised for a purpose. A foolish one at that—to be the wife of an important man when she could easily have been something else. Something more. But it did not matter. She was not a boy. “

But her life takes a turn when she gets attacked by the Black Clan on her way to the Imperial city of Inako. She turns out to be the only survivor of the massacre but instead of going back to the safe hands of her family she chooses to find out who hired those men to kill her and why.

She then disguised as a boy, finds the Black Clan and gets abducted by them. Abducted can’t be the right word to describe it. She was more like recruited, trained and tortured by them.

She goes through many difficulties and changes on her way to freedom; to prove that she can live her life freely without a man.

While her brother, Dragon of Kai aka Hatori Kenshin do everything to find her sister. While everyone thinks that she’s dead, he knew she wasn’t.

                                “His sister was not dead.

She was much too smart for that.”

This book was just what I imagined it to be and that is AWESOME!!!!!
This kick ass girl totally won my heart. She is one of my idol character now.

She  struggles she falls but every time others look down at her she stands up again. She proves that she can survive no matter what life throws at her. It doesn’t matter if she is not a boy, she can do it by being a girl and she is not less than a man.

                                “She punched him again.

For all those times a man had caused her to feel fear. For all those times she’d been made to think something was wrong with her. For all those times she’d been forced to believe a girl was somehow less than a boy.”

Even after being a princess and living a luxurious life( where she doesn’t have to do anything for herself) she chose to be a warrior and live her life freely and for herself.
The Black Clan members were a never hateful for me. NEVER. EVER.Not even when they made her struggle. I always loved them. They were always my favorite. When you people will read it, you all will all agree with me.
Author didn’t let the romance cover the main motive of the book. Though it wasn’t enough for me. I would have liked it a little bit more.

Dialogues were amazing. Specially when people bicker back and fourth with her and she just end up huffy and angry. This whole thing use to be all serious type conversations but I always find it funny. More like children fighting. Cute AF.

Mariko exhaled in a miserable huff. “You’re cheating.”
                                “You’re useless.”

“I am not useless.” She began.

                                “Prove it.”

                                “What?” She blinked

                                “Take the branch from me.”

Though there was a serious stuff going on but I find it more of…….cute.

Story telling was good but not that spell bounding. I wasn’t able to connect to the characters as much as I normally do. Mostly because the story was narrated by the author’s point of view and not by the character’s point of view.
